Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty much spent helping a girlfriend re-organise her wardrobe as she is moving house and going out to watch a couple of movies!
I watched ‘The Hundred-foot Journey’ and ‘Finding Fanny’. The Hundred-foot journey is amazing! The movie is about a chef’s journey from a young age and I absolutely loved it. I would recommend not to see the movie on an empty stomach (guilty face-palm). Additionally, Om Puri has really added his own flavour to the strict, orthodox and yet humorous father’s role well. Ooh, and I really like the pretty vintage(y) frocks the actress who is playing the sous chef has worn in the movie. The movie’s worth a definite watch!
‘Finding Fanny’ is about an uncoordinated and unplanned journey of five people trying to look for Fanny and the events that take place erstwhile. This movie iterates the philosophy of the journey being more important than the destination. Well, I hope that was the motive cause although each individual character is brilliant, the movie is unable to generate curiosity in the audience’s mind about who is Fanny and why are the characters not looking for her in a more passionate way. The whole road-trip journey that the characters undertake is more an activity to pass the time it seems, rather being critical to look for a person. However, I think it’s different from the usual Bollywood masala flicks, so definitely worth a one time watch.
Anyhow, it’s time for me to start my work week…Monday Blues please pass me by.
Have a great week ahead!
